Ask
yourself, “Are you ready?” |
 |
One of the keys of buying a home successfully is knowledge
and experience. Planning makes buying a home easier and
more understandable. Furthermore, planning can help you
find the shortcuts in home buying.
Ask yourself, “What Do
I You Want?”
If this is your first time buying a home or the 5th time,
you have to ask yourself why you want to buy. Is it because
you are ready to make that jump to owning your first home?
Are you moving into another location? Is there a change
in lifestyle? What area are you looking into? When will
you need to make that purchase?
No matter what the answer is, the more you understand about
the real estate market, the more you are closer to achieving
your goals.
Ask yourself, “Am I Financially
Ready?”
There are many loan programs in getting financing towards
the purchase of a home. Some allow a down payment as low
as 5 percent; some even with no money down. The cost of
closing a loan can also be underwritten within some loan
programs themselves.
Most elect to make a larger down payment (20% or more)
to lower the monthly mortgage payments. The more leverage
you have, the better to negotiate towards the purchase of
a home.
Ask yourself, “Do I have Good
Credit?”
Loans with little or no money down are not available to
everyone. You need to start looking into keeping your credit
in good standing or start improving your scores. At a minimum
of one year before you decide to purchase a home, make sure
to pay your car payment, rent, credit card or any other
bills on time or in full.

In the United States, more than 2 million people earned
real estate licenses. The dropout rate is high resulting
in a small percentage who actively help sellers and buyers.
The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) includes
750,000 brokers and salespeople, individuals bound together
with a strong Code of Ethics, extensive training opportunities
and a wealth of community information. NAR members are routinely
active in PTAs, local government committees and a variety
of neighborhood organizations. Being actively involved in
community affairs provides REALTORS® with a better understanding
of the area in which they are selling.
Perusing through free real estate pages or browsing online
may be the first steps in looking for a house. But there
is a basic rule in real estate and that is all properties
are not alike and so are contract terms, finance options,
inspection requirements, and closing costs. The same goes
for each transaction.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a professional help
in navigating the maze of information, terms, prices, and
negotiations who knows the community and more? Those professionals
are the REALTORS® who serve Equity Nation, Inc.
